Fast-food chains are rolling out Halloween-themed menus this month, offering limited-run treats that mix movie tie-ins and seasonal flavors — and many will disappear once supplies run out. For customers, these launches mean new Instagram-ready options and a narrow window to try them: Burger King’s Addams Family lineup arrives in early October, while Dunkin’ debuts its purple-tinged sweets later in the month.
Burger King leans into The Addams Family
Starting Oct. 10, Burger King will introduce a four-item menu inspired by the modern Addams Family films. The Miami-based chain says the promotion is a collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios consumer products and will be offered only while stocks last.

The items blend visual theatrics with familiar fast-food formats: a signature Whopper given a purple twist, churro-style fries, a themed milkshake, and reworked onion rings in special packaging. Burger King frames the release as part of its seasonal innovations aimed at Halloween shoppers.
- Wednesday’s Whopper: a Whopper served on a purple bun made from purple potatoes.
- Thing’s Rings: classic onion rings repackaged to match the theme.
- Gomez’s Churro Fries: fried churros tossed in cinnamon sugar and paired with a chocolate dipping sauce.
- Morticia’s Kooky Chocolate Shake: soft-serve blended with chocolate cake batter fudge and topped with black-and-purple cookie pieces.
Dunkin’ turns purple for Halloween
Dunkin’ is also tapping into the season with a selection of limited-time breakfast and beverage items that hit menus Oct. 16. The chain emphasized visual appeal — a signature color swap and novelty formats — along with new flavor twists aimed at holiday shoppers.
The centerpiece is a revamped spider-themed doughnut that trades its usual orange for a deep purple glaze and is finished with a glazed chocolate Munchkin doughnut hole to form the “spider” center. Complementing the pastry are two versions of a new purple-hued coffee drink.
- Spider Specialty Donut: purple-glazed doughnut topped with a chocolate Munchkin hole, chocolate drizzle “legs” and white drizzle “eyes.”
- Potion Macchiato (hot or iced): layered espresso and milk with a purple marshmallow-ube flavoring.
- Halloween Munchkins Bucket: a 50-count bucket of doughnut holes for sharing or parties.
Beth Turenne, Dunkin’s vice president of category management, described the menu additions as a way to help customers mark the season with festive flavors and visuals.
What this means for customers
These limited releases are typical of quick-service chains looking to drive short-term traffic and social media buzz. For consumers, the result is an opportunity to sample novelty items — but with caveats: all items are seasonal, availability varies by location, and quantities are finite.
For those tracking food trends, the promotions show two current tendencies: tie-ins with entertainment properties and a preference for bold, photogenic color palettes (in this case, purple). If you plan to try one of these items, consider visiting earlier in the promotion window to avoid disappointment.
Both companies confirmed the dates and described the items in press materials; Burger King noted its Addams Family collaboration, and Dunkin’ released product details and availability on Oct. 1.
