The Public Eye and Private Pain
?Visually, I represented a lot of women. But I?m still the same person.?
In an interview with the British edition of Vogue, renowned English singer-songwriter Adele looked back at the transformation that set social media buzzing and had the world weighing in (pun intended) on her new look. At just 33, Adele has faced a torrent of comments about her body?some supportive, some sharply critical.
?The harshest words about my body always came from other women. I was really disappointed by that. It hurt me.?
Adele shared this with Vogue UK, gracing the cover for their November issue. Her candor throws a spotlight on the complex relationship between public figures and their followers, especially when it comes to body image. The scrutiny has been relentless, but Adele?s message is clear: she?s still Adele, regardless of her size.

No Magic Diet?Just Real Life
These days, Adele is positively radiant?having found love again with sports agent Rich Paul after separating from Simon Konecki in 2019. But her noticeable weight loss has sparked nearly as many questions as her music inspires fans. Was it the Sirtfood Diet? That popular plan, which promises you?ll drop nearly 7 pounds in a single week, became the hot topic on both sides of the Atlantic. But despite the hype (and the fact that health professionals don?t exactly recommend such quick fixes), Adele insists that?s not what brought about her transformation.
So what was her real motivation? Not a fast-track to a thinner figure, but rather a need to quiet her anxiety, calm her nerves, and let go of the stress that had piled up.
Trading Diets for Dumbbells
?I needed to get addicted to something to clear my head. It could have been knitting, but it wasn?t,? said Adele to Giles Hattersley, a journalist for Vogue UK.
In the end, it wasn?t slimming programs that worked for her, but the pure, simple act of moving her body?regularly, energetically, and on her own terms. Adele refocused her life around wellness, finding a path that made sense for her. She poured herself?body and soul?into physical activity, rather than chasing after a number on a scale.
If you think that sounds intense, you?re not wrong. Adele admits to working out ?two to three times a day.? In her own words:
?I lift my weights in the morning, then usually I walk or box in the afternoon. In the evening, I do a cardio session.?
Strength training and cardio: her favorite remedies for wellness and health.
Stronger in Body, Stronger in Mind
?It became my time. I realized that when I was training, I had no anxiety. It was never about losing weight. I thought, if I can make my body physically strong?and I can feel it and see it?maybe one day my emotions and mind can also be as physically strong.?
This shift was clear even last year, with a close source telling People magazine:
?Adele loves her physical transformation; she feels more confident, dresses differently, and just seems overall happier.?
It goes to show: sometimes, the surest path to change has nothing to do with fad diets or quick-fix programs. Adele?s journey is a reminder that true wellbeing is built from the inside out, and there?s no substitute for feeling good in your own skin?at any size.
