Starbucks Looking To Drive Thru Soledad and Whites Canyons

Starbucks Coffee may be moving once again.  After a successful move from one corner to the other at Bouquet Canyon and Newhall Ranch Road, and now mid-construction on a move from one corner to the other (ok, close to the corner) at Lyons Avenue and Old Orchard Road, the Seattle chain has their eyes set on Canyon Country.

eatSCV has exclusively learned that Starbucks has begun exploring the process of making renovations to the current Realty Executives building (formerly a bank branch) to become a new coffee shop with a drive thru.

A source with Realty Executives, who wished to remain anonymous as they were unauthorized to speak on the matter, confirmed to eatSCV last week that they have been notified by the building’s landlord of the pending changes.  A spokesperson for Starbucks would neither confirm nor deny the move saying only that they “remain focused on serving customers in Santa Clarita at our existing stores and have no store-opening plans to announce.”  The spokesperson added “Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers and we are continually evaluating our store portfolio.”

Permit applications have been submitted to the City of Santa Clarita for a complete tear down of the building and construction of a new structure which, according to the City of Santa Clarita, would include 250 square feet of outdoor patio seating.

No word yet, or any indication as to whether or not the thermometer/clock monument will stay. Here’s hoping…
