Santa Clarita Oktoberfest Brings Their Spiegeltent to the Valencia Westfield Town Center Saturday

Last weekend, Old Town Newhall Oktoberfest happened, and quite honestly, it was a shitshow. If the comments found on their Facebook page are any indication, the city should really leave these types of things to the professionals. When will they learn?

While people were being turned away, (allegedly) being sold fake tickets, and not enjoying themselves, a different beer event was taking place at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. The Belgians are Coming Belgian Beer Fest offered over 50 craft beers to hundreds of guests. The location, complete with a Belgian Spiegeltent, was perfect. Absolutely perfect. This is what professionally run events should be like! Finally! Thank you Peter Goossens!

Lucky for SCV, they are back at it for a second weekend event, this one being the inaugural Santa Clarita Oktoberfest, which is a tribute to the original Oktoberfest held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Santa Clarita’s edition will feature a variety of German and German-style beers, German foods, music, and games to complete the Oktoberfest experience. Plus, a portion of the proceeds of both event will benefit the Repertory East Playhouse, a non-profit theatre in Old Town Newhall.

As a town, residents always wish for these kinds of festivals to happen in SCV, and the Belgians are Coming Belgian Beer Fest and Santa Clarita Oktoberfest are proof that these events can and will do well in this town.

It is highly recommended that you buy your tickets online, which you can do at this link. Tickets are only $10 for designated drivers and $25 pre sale online and $30 at the gate. I wouldn’t risk this event being sold out at the gate! Get your tickets now! This event takes place tomorrow, October 18 from 7-11pm! Who says there’s nothing to do in Awesometown!
