Saddle Ranch Replaces Friday’s Outside Mall

Saddle Ranch Chop House, the regional chain of western themed steak houses, will occupy the space formerly used by TGI Friday’s outside the Valencia Town Center Mall at the end of Town Center Drive. Santa Clarita Councilmember Dante Acosta announced the new restaurant at the City’s State of the City Luncheon on Thursday, according to Austin Dave of The Santa Clarita Valley Signal.

Saddle Ranch, which started on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood is perhaps most famously known for their mechanical bull and as being a hot spot for nightlife, more than their cuisine. With other locations including Universal City, Orange County and Glendale, Arizona, they’re known to be in areas of high pedestrian foot traffic, which is likely why they’ve chosen this location to expand to.

After TGI Friday’s announced they’d vacate the space outside the mall, they were initially planning on relocating to the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Citrus Avenue. Sources say that Friday’s corporate killed the idea due to a lack of pedestrian traffic in that corner.

Other rumored restaurants looking to take over the spot before Saddle Ranch nabbed it included Rock & Brews, a rock ‘n roll themed restaurant which is owned by legendary rocker Gene Simmons of KISS, and Granville Cafe.
