Santa Clarita was rocked by the news last year that El Pollo Loco would be vacating its long held spot on Magic Mountain Parkway after what is rumored to be an exorbitant rent increase at the current lease’s end. One of the healthier fast food alternatives, El Pollo Loco is often overlooked in that “gotta get a quick meal” game, but shouldn’t be so quickly disregarded.

Well, salvation has come for the crazy chicken in the form of what is rumored to be a brand new building being constructed at the corner of Magic Mountain and Citrus, in the Valencia Town Center property.

Multiple sources have indicated that El Pollo Loco will take up residence in this new building and get a new neighbor in their new home, as TGI Friday’s is giving up their prime spot out front of the mall.

A replacement is being sought after to take over the old spot once Fridays moves their famous mudslides out, which should be before the year’s end according to Stacie House, Marketing Director for Westfield Valencia Town Center. No deals have been finalized as to who will be replacing them, but rumors are running wild and we are working hard to get confirmation of the names we’ve heard. Trust me of the two we’ve heard so far, either one would be HUGE for Santa Clarita, but in very different ways.
