Gather up the family because Golden Corral is coming to Valencia! Right into the former Hometown Buffet space next to Kmart. They already have the location listed on their website, but we don’t have an opening date yet.

The closing of Hometown Buffet was a big loss for Santa Clarita, leaving people in the community scrambling to find a replacement buffet. And although Sizzler is good, it certainly doesn’t hold a candle to Golden Corral.

For those unfamiliar, Golden Corral is the epitome of buffet dining (think Vegas style), with multiple sections spanning all types of cuisine. They have ribs, chicken, and steak along with any side you can think of. Some of the items are made to order, and at times the lines can get long, but it is worth it because items aren’t just sitting under warming lights. Everything is really fresh, I mean they even make their own dressing!

They are perhaps best known for their massive dessert selection with a chocolate fountain taking center stage. They have skewers with fruit, marshmallows, and even rice krispe treats. Of course they have a nice selection of plated cakes and breads, but the fountain is the real winner.

In recent years the company has expanded with locations opening in Southern California and Kern County, but still the closest one to us in SCV is easily an hour away. Now, the people of Santa Clarita can indulge in their buffet dreams right here in town.

I certainly feel like the Chuck E Cheese/Hometown Buffet/Seafood Buffet space next to Kmart is the perfect size and location for a place like this
