Updated: Maria Acevedo, Co-Owner of Margaritas, Killed in Saugus Home

Maria Acevedo, co-owner of Margaritas Mexican Grill was killed in her home in Saugus today. Maria’s death was announced earlier today on the restaurant’s Facebook page (click). Remembered as the CEO of the two restaurants she co-owned, she is credited in an unsigned posting as being the driving force behind the operations as well as chef, and of course a wife, mother, aunt.

Margaritas, famous for their namesake cocktail, also was well known for Maria’s special tortilla soup, widely regarded as of the best in the area.
